Max Turgeon et L-P Ménard ont été considéré par la communauté internationale pour le Piolet d'Or. Ils ne font pas partie de la sélection finale, mais ils ont tout de même été considérés! Bravo les boys!

31 octobre 2005 Je me sens comme un petit enfant. Aujourd'hui je suis allé grimper avec un ami espagnol. Il se trouve que celui-ci a fait le sommet de l'Everest 2 fois sans oxygène, ouvert de nouvelles voies sur le Cho Oyu, Broad Peak, etc. Disons que je me sens très groupie et impressionné. Mais surtout, je suis très heureux de l'amitié que nous avons développée.

24 octobre 2005 Le plus grand danger de la haute montagne, c'est bien connu, sont les avalanches. Hier, 18 personnes sont mortes de suite d'une avalanche sur le Kang Guru au Népal. Pour la majorité des grimpeurs/trekkeurs Français et porteur Népalais.

25 août 2005 Une série de vols d'équipement sont survenus cette saison au Pakistan. Notamment sur le Broad Peak (8051m), le Nanga Parbat (8125m) et le K2 (8611m). Une situation préoccupante qui peut avoir des conséquences graves, et même causer la mort. Voici un compte-rendu.

17 août 2005 Une saison à l'opposée de l'an dernier sur le K2. Contrairement aux records de 2004 - plus de 50 grimpeurs avaient fait le sommet - il semble que personne n'atteindra le zénith cette année. Le groupe de 4 grimpeurs Kazakhs, qui manquaient à l'appel depuis Lundi, est de retour au camp de base.

7 août 2005 Question de se délier les jambes, rien de tel que 350 mètres de dalles! Nous sommes donc allés faire Papy Lada (5.9 - A1) aux Palissades ce week-end. Une belle météo et 11h de grimpe d'aventure… Peu de photos, car j'ai échappé la caméra qui a subit une chute de 60 mètres! Stef l'a tout de même retrouvée.

En 2004, Simon Savard et Hélène Chotard se sont rendu au Mali pour y effectuer un voyage grimpo-culturel. Le périple du couple est d'ailleurs paru dans le dernier magazine Grimper (no. 84 en kiosque en ce moment). Simon et Hélène ont également acceptés de diffuser leurs photos et d'écrire un article qui est disponible en exclusivité.

18 Mai 2005 Annapurna, le plus mortel des 8000m, vient encore de faire une victime. Christian Kuntner venait de réaliser le sommet et il était au camp 2 lorsqu'une avalanche l'a frappée. Annapurna aura été son 14e et ultime 8000 mètres. Plus sur ExplorersWeb.

12 Mai 2005 Une équipe française tente de devenir la première à poser un hélicoptère au sommet de l'Everest et ainsi battre le record mondial d'atterrissage en altitude. Difficile de battre cette altitude après coup, l'Everest étant le plus haut point de la terre!

6 Mai 2005 Je n'ai toujours pas plus d'information sur les canadiens évacué du Mt Everest hier, mais j'ai appris qu'ils étaient membres du groupe SummitClimb de Dan Mazur. Un groupe commercial controversé qui compte déjà 3 décès cette saison.

6 Mai 2005 Deux canadiens ont été pris dans une avalanche sur le Mont Everest cette semaine et ils ont été évacués il y a quelques heures. On sait qu'il s'agit de Pierre Bourdeau et l'autre personne demeure à confirmer. Malheureusement, l'information est fragmentaire et il est très difficile de trouver plus d'information.
