J'ai eu la chance d'essayer un nouveau pantalon softshell, particulièrement bien adapté au climat hivernal du nord-est américain. Fait d'un matériel propre à Marmot, les pantalons ATV sont tout indiqué pour les sports d'hiver. En particulier la grimpe sur glace et les randonnées en haute montagne.

J'ai testé les miens lors d'une longue journée au Mont Washington. Malgré les vents puissant au sommet, je n'ai pratiquement rien ressentit au niveau de la peau. De plus, ils ont évacué la transpiration beaucoup mieux que mes pantalons " hard shell ". En glace, je les ai utilisé sans guêtres. Le bas du pantalon est élastique et muni d'une fermeture-éclair qui permet de s'adapter à plusieurs types de bottes. Même après m'être accroché dans le bas de ceux-ci avec mes crampons, aucune déchirure ni perforation ne sont venus à bout des ATV.

Fabriqué d'un matériel relativement épais, les ATV sont tout indiqué pour les sports d'hiver, mais trop chaud pour la saison estivale. Somme toute, de très bonne culotte qui survivront a plusieurs saisons de glace.

I had the chance to a new pair of sofshell pants, particularly well designed for the North-East winter climate. Made of proprietary materiel from Marmot, the ATV pants are all you can ask for winter sports, especially ice climbing, hiking and mountaineering.

I have tested mines on a long day at Mount Washington. Even the strong winds of the summit did not inflict me with a chill factor. Wind resistance was quite impressive so was it's capacity to breathe and wick perspiration. While ice climbing, I have used them without gaiters. The bottoms of the legs are elastic and equipped with a zipper, enabling adjustments to many sizes of boots. Even after many crampons accidents, no tear and perforation go thru the ATV.

Made of a thick material, the ATV's are all indicated for winter activities, but way too warm for summer season. Overall, great pants that will survive many good ice climbing seasons.
